A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that feature. The provider processes the request and supplies the response. Powell County Criminal History does not keep or record those search terms on its own systems.

An email or other message is retained as needed to prepare a response. It remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Powell County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal-record information. Its reference material identifies official sources, including Powell County courts and law-enforcement offices, the Kentucky State Police Criminal Identification and Records Branch, and the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry. KRS 17.150 limits ordinary public inspection of centralized Kentucky criminal-history information. Visitor data is not turned into a record about another person or a consumer report, and this website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted through a box is governed by that provider's privacy policy rather than this one. Each provider controls its own retention and disclosure practices. Read those terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Powell County Sheriff's Office, Kentucky court services, state agencies, legal-aid organizations, and outside search tools. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy rules apply. Review them before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may measure activity across websites to select ads. That processing takes place on their systems and under their policies.
